Study day "The language of medicine's lexical creativity: A comparative analysis between languages"
The language of medicine demonstrates a remarkable lexical inventiveness: neologisms, loanwords, euphemisms, metaphors, abbreviations and codes. This study day will be the opportunity to discover and compare this inventiveness among various languages (English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese) and to tackle the issue of the dominance of English in present and future medical languages.
